How I can help

Counselling that works WITH you.

;

You may be feeling the effects of trauma like those associated with PTSD and Complex PTSD such as flashbacks, nightmares, triggering, depression, anxiety and overwhelm.

Trauma comes from many sources – from a single catastrophic incident such as a car accident to an ongoing series of incidents and experiences such as physical, sexual, emotional abuse and neglect.

Difficult life events, past or present, such as bereavement, job loss or relationship breakdown can also bring about feelings that are difficult to manage such as sadness, feeling low, lonely or stuck.   These feelings can negatively impact the way we relate to ourselves and to others and therefore affect our relationships such as those with a partner or spouse, family members, friends or colleagues.

Perhaps you feel numb, cut off from those around you, or like you have lost your way.

That’s where I can help.

A safe space

I’ll work WITH you in an emotionally safe way. I’ll listen to you without judgment. And I’ll help you to navigate your way through your difficulties by helping you to gain clarity and identify your needs and goals.

Together we’ll spot any feelings, thoughts and behaviours that are making life difficult for you. We’ll explore do-able coping mechanisms that will work for you personally.

Enhancing your life

Everybody has different needs and goals but, generally speaking, you’ll be armed with the necessary emotional tools to:

→ Become the best version of yourself.

→ Experience improvement in your relationships.

→ Make better choices that serve you.

→ Be more assertive, confident and comfortable in your own skin.

→ Feel more empowered.

→ Banish that inner critical voice.

→ Regulate and manage your emotions.

→ Feel less depressed and less anxious.

These enhancements to your life are what makes counselling such a vital investment in yourself – and the tools that you develop to create the new you will last your lifetime.

It really can be a gamechanger.
